As of January 24, 2014, parking on campus will become paid-. For 2014, rates shall as follows: Cars: $ 3.000 a day and Motorcycles: $ 1.000 a day.
As of February 24, the date when people shall start paying parking, all cars and motorcycles entering campus shall pay parking fees (cars $3.000 and motorcycles $1.000) a day; this covers any number of times that they may enter or exit campus that same day.
Parking is paid using a UdeM ID which shall identify people as students, professors, employees, lecturers, guest speakers, contractors, or continued education students, and it is recharged at any of the Parking-Teller Machines set up around campus.
Visitor's Parking Lot located in front of Gate 4 also has a paid-parking policy, and the rates shall be the same as for on campus-parking. Visitor's Parking shall be paid using a paper ticket at any of the Parking-Teller Machines set up around campus. It is important to keep the paid parking receipt and to show it when leaving with a car or motorcycle.
There is a 20 minute free-parking time before starting charge parking. If you take 21 minutes, you must pay the full parking fee established by UdeM. This free-parking time does not apply to users parking in the Visitor's Parking Lot located in front of Gate 4.
The use of parking lots is limited, so cars and motorcycles may enter until it is full.
Students, professors, employees, lecturers, guest speakers, contractors, or continued education students can only exit campus with the same ID they used to enter. If anyone tries to exit with a different ID, the gate will not open and a message reading "NOT REGISTERED" /"NO REGISTRA INGRESO". will appear on the card reader screen. Therefore, please bear in mind that UdeM IDs are personal and cannot be transferred. Furthermore, it is forbidden to drive into campus using an ID that does not belong to the owner of a car or motorcycle.
This access control system only allows people to enter campus if their ID is active. Users shall only have one active ID. In case people have various occupations on campus and have various IDs only one shall be active and the ID that is used most frequently to enter campus will be given priority, as you can see in the following structure:
1 Employee (Administrative and Full time Professors )
3 Students (undergraduate and postgraduate)
4 Assembly Members
5 Guest Speakers
7 Continued Education Students
Only people with an active encoded ID shall be allowed on campus driving their own car, motorcycle or bicycle. People without an ID must enter campus as visitors using gates 2 and 4.
If a visitor loses a paid-parking ticket, this visitor must pay UdeM parking fee again for that day.
Users are responsible for the care and good use given to their IDs; UdeM does not assume any liability for unused paid parking money.
One user cannot pay parking fees for more than one car or motorcycle using the same ID, because the second time the card reader will read "NOT REGISTERED" /"NO REGISTRA INGRESO".
